Here is the cover for my book An Ornament Story. It had gone through number of changes over the years (yes, years. Ouch!)
Medium: Pencil on paper, scanned, digitally colored
Here is the first sketch I did for The Three Bears Ornament in the story. Unlike most other ornaments, their design remained mostly from the beginning to the end.
Medium: Pencil on paper

Here are some of the portraits I have done for family, friends, and for hire.
If viewing on your phone, scroll down past pricing to see portraits..
Portraits for hire:
What I need to start:
1. Photo reference of the people/animals in the drawing
2. A general idea of what you want them to be doing (I can help with ideas too)
3. Size preference (i.e. 11”x17”, 13”x19”, 5”x7”, etc.). I will default to a 12”x17” drawing print.
4. Any other information you might want to include if you want more details (hobbies, likes, etc.).
NOTE: The art medium is DIGITAL to print on Giclee archival paper.
Style:
If you see something you like from my samples, let me know.
Per my samples, I generally do some minimal shading and light colorwork.
Price:
$400 (for up to 4 people/animal(s))
(contact me for pricing on larger groups)
This is for the creation of the artwork only.
Then I will give you a link to order whatever print(s)/cards you like. This is what your page and options would look like (click HERE)
(here you can also choose additional sizes, framing options, and or cards.)
Size
Generally, people have been ordering the 12”x17” giclee, or the 17”x24” print. (There are more print sizes available).
You can request Portrait or Landscape, or I can decide depending on how the artwork is shaping up.
There can be some wiggle room in pricing for larger groups and depending on my schedule. I can give you a better estimate once I have a better idea of what you need.
Printing:
I print through the site INPRNT. INPRNT's gallery-quality giclée art prints are carefully produced on 100% cotton rag archival paper, printed with archival inks
Again, This is what my gallery looks like. You can also choose additional sizes or framing options, cards, (or phone case too. ha).

Delivery:
Turnaround/delivery depends on the scope of the project, delivery needs, and how many portraits I have lined up. This part can be 1-5 days.
As soon as the art is finished I will upload it to print.
Shipping:
printing and shipping times can vary from INPRNT depending on the prints/framing you choose, and the shipping speeds you request.
Print order alone generally takes 2 weeks to print and ship. (Using the custom framing option can take much longer right now during this COVID 19)
If you need something to show before this time I can send you a low-res image file for you to post or print and have until the print arrives.
If you live around Peachtree City, GA, and need something printed before the two weeks, I have the ability to print inkjet matte prints up to 13”x19.”
I can also sign the print(s) if requested and the timeline works out. (Potential extra shipping charges here to get the print to me first.)
Payment:
Send payment to my Venmo account:
@sherman-kew
(If you don’t have Venmo let me know and we can arrange payment another way)
A Few Final Thoughts…
I retain the ability to post the work as a sample on my website. (I’ll wait to post if you are ordering the portrait as a gift)
If you would like a copy of the high-res digital file there will be an additional cost of $100. (For example if, you wanted to run your own cards.)
If you would like me to sign your print, please ship the prints to me. I will sign them and repost them to you. (Cost: please Venmo me the cost of your shipping)
Gift idea 1: ordering cards of your print is a great way to share the art with other family and friends. The cards are also giclee prints and look really nice frames (in an 8x10” frame with a 5”x7” mat. The Giclee card dimensions are approximately 5.5" x 7.5".)
Gift idea 2: or, if it is a group, some people like to order a print for each person in the portrait as a gift.
I am just getting the word to people online now, and figuring out how to streamline this process, so any and all feedback for this process is welcome.

I drew this as a Christmas gift for my brother in law to give to his wife.
This a family portrait I drew for my sister to give to her husband for his 50th birthday.
I also made the frame.
Medium (art): digital
Medium (frame): repurposed found, glass, glaze/paint.
I drew this as a gift for my wife. She had been requesting an updated illustration that included our daughter.
The kiddos helped make the frame for it using paint and mardi gras beads. :)
Size: 13”x19” (with frame 15:x21”)
Medium: Digital (Frame: Wood, paint, and mardi gras beads)
Here is something I drew up for my wife for our 1 year anniversary. Our son in on top with his giraffe.

Here is my illustration of the inside of our wedding program. The bottom folded down here to reveal the up of the wedding party (the program for the day was on the front (backside of the flap).

I made this for my sister in law’s family a while back.
The final was having all of them in separate frames (so they could continue to “add” to their family and I couldn’t have to update an entire illustration).

I’m thinking about starting a series of drawings/paintings of ladder boys and ladders girls for Mardi Gras. More to come.
When a tractor breaks down on a parade float, it can feel likes forever before the parade continues.

I’m working on a series of warped perspective houses. They are all in relief, coming off the wall in a sort of a 2 1/2D.
This first one is my house.
Medium: Wood, house paint, plaster, nails, screws.
This is made from found and repurposed materials.
Dimensions: TBD… currently around 4’ tall by 10’ wide.
After I finish this piece, I plan to build some of my favorite landmark restaurants in New Orleans.
Contact me if you are interested in a wooden house.
Getting ready for Mardi-Gras, sketching in the coffee shop.
This is a dada pulling his mardi-gras ladder, post parade, with a child riding on the back.
revising this, I think I will extend the ladder-make it twice as long—and then maybe make it a watercolor or oversized wall sculpture relief. TBD.
Medium: pen, paper.
